The immediate past governor of Edo State, Godwin Obaseki, has embarked on a medical vacation.

The former Governor said he embarked on a medical vacation to rest and undergo extended medical checks.

This was contained in a statement released by Crusoe Osagie, the media adviser to the former governor.

The statement reads in part: “Once again expressed his appreciation to God Almighty and the people of Edo state and Nigeria for the opportunity to serve.

“He urged all Edo people, both at home and in the diaspora, to continue to be hopeful and pray for the peace, progress, and prosperity of our state and Nigeria.”

The New Diplomat reports that Obaseki ended his tenure and honourably bowed out of office on Monday, November 11. This was after finishing his two-term of eight years, paving the way for the inauguration of Monday Okpebholo as the new governor of the Edo state.
