The family members of the late Brigadier-General (Dr.) Samuel Osaigbovo Ogbemudia have said there are great plans to carry on his humanitarian activities through his foundation-Osaigbovo Ogbemudia Foundation which was launched during his 80th birthday.

The main drive of the Foundation is to support the prevention and control of diabetes, which is a major health challenge to Nigerians. The other objectives of the Foundation are on including Good Governance and Development, especially for the youths.

General Ogbemudia, who died in March 9, 2017 would have been 85 on Sunday, September 17.

As the family is celebrating his impactful life, he is being remembered with gratitude to God for a long, fruitful and prosperous life. “There are great plans to carry on his humanitarian activities through his foundation,” Rev. Mrs. Dele George, his first child said.

General Ogbemudia was the first Military Governor (1968-1975) of the Mid-West State, and civilian governor of Bendel State from October 1983 to December 31, 1983.

Ogbemudia had a very successful military career that was translated into his appointment as military governor of the defunct Midwestern State at the beginning of the civil war.

 

He was referred to as the governor of Governors. and as Minister of Labour and Productivity, his legacies, remain ineradicable. In all spheres, he lived a wonderful life worthy of emulation by all.
