Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers State has officially sworn in 23 newly elected local government chairmen in Rivers State.

The swearing-in ceremony was held at the Executive Council Chambers of the Government House in Port Harcourt, the state capital, on Sunday.

The New Diplomat reports that this comes after the Action People’s Party (APP) won 22 out of 23 chairmanship positions, while the Action Alliance(AA) candidate, won one seat.

The Chairman of the Commission, Adolphus Enebeli issued the certificates to the chairmen at the RSIEC headquarters in Port Harcourt, the state capital.

The event was attended by Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed, who is also the Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Governors’ Forum.

During his address, Fubara urged the newly appointed chairpersons to adopt a servant leadership mindset rather than one of authority.
