Rivers LGA Poll: RSIEC Announces Result For Etche LGA Chairmanship Seat

The Rivers State Independent Electoral Commission (RSIEC) has declared the result of the local government election held in Etche Local Government Area of Rivers State.

The electoral body declared that Uzodinma Nwafor, candidate of the Action Alliance (AA), is the winner of the chairmanship seat of Etche LGA of Rivers state.

Adolphus Enebeli, chairman of Rivers State Independent National Electoral Commission (RSIEC), announced the Etche LGA result on Sunday in Port Harcourt, the state capital.

Enebeli said the AA also won all the 19 councillorship positions in Etche LGA.

Earlier, the Action Peoples Party (APP) was declared the winner of 22 of 23 chairmanship positions in the state local government elections.

The New Diplomat also reports that Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers State will swear in all the newly elected local government chairpersons by 4 pm today.

Tammy Danagogo, secretary to the state government (SSG) who announced the development, said the event is scheduled to be held at the executive council chambers, government house in Port Harcourt, the state capital.
