President Bola Tinubu is on Wednesday departing Abuja for the United Kingdom to begin a two-week vacation, says the Presidency.

According to the Presidency, Tinubu is set to leave the shores of Nigeria for that of the United Kingdom on Wednesday to begin a two-week vacation.

This is coming barely twenty-four hours after the nation celebrated the 64th anniversary of freedom from the clutches of colonial rule.

According to a statement released by the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Mr Bayo Onanuga, the vacation is “part of his yearly leave”

The statement is titled ‘President Tinubu goes on annual leave.’

“He will use the two weeks as a working vacation and a retreat to reflect on his administration’s economic reforms.

“He will return to the country after the leave expires,” the statement read in part.

The President had, about a fortnight ago, travelled to London where he met with King Charles III.

Recall that Tinubu had received backlash from members of the opposition parties, particularly the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), over what they term as “unnecessary junketing” amid enormous tasks deserving attention in the country.
