Social media influencer Martins Vincent Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan and crossdresser Idris Okuneye, known as Bobrisky, are expected to be grilled by the House of Representatives.
This follows invitations extended to them to appear before the House over allegations of a N15m bribe. According to the House of Representatives, the decision to summon them is to give them an opportunity to throw light on all the allegations and issues regarding their case.
VeryDarkMan and Bobrisky are expected to appear before the green chamber on Monday, September 30.
Recall that the House of Representatives had summoned VeryDarkMan, Bobrisky, and the Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) Chairman, Ola Olukoyede, over allegations of bribery and inappropriate conduct levelled against the EFCC and Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS) officials.
VeryDarkMan’s legal representative, Deji Adeyanju, confirmed his client’s readiness to cooperate with the investigation. Adeyanju said: “We will be at the National Assembly tomorrow with our client @thatverydarkman to assist in the investigation into allegations by Bobrisky that he paid N15m to have money laundering charges dropped by the EFCC and also bribed prison officials to stay in an apartment.”
It would be recalled that the lingering allegations emerged after an audio recording surfaced in which Bobrisky, allegedly claimed that she/he bribed EFCC officials with N15 million to quash a money laundering case.
In the audio, Bobrisky purportedly claimed that he evaded a six-month jail term at the Kirikiri Prison in Lagos through arrangements by his godfather, which ensured he stayed in a lodge instead of the prison.
However, the crossdresser had vehemently denied saying such. Bobrisky also distanced himself from the audio.
