The immediate past Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, has felicitated with the first lady of Nigeria, Oluremi Tinubu, who clocks 64 on Saturday, September 21, 2024.

Omo-Agege, the 2023 governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Delta State, described the first lady as a stateswoman and advocate for the underprivileged.

Omo-Agege, in a birthday message issued by his Media Adviser, Sunny Areh, said Mrs Tinubu added a new vista to the presidency with her leadership quality, advocacy and vision.

He noted that the nation is lucky to have the First Lady as her political experience has been useful in building the country.

The statement reads in part: “Our First Lady transcends being a supportive wife of the President. Her vast experience in public office as a lawmaker at the apex level is a unique attribute never seen before in Nigeria. She knows every part of the country, the challenges and policy options to national development as well as how underprivileged people can be lifted out of poverty.

“From her outstanding political consciousness and leadership, Mrs. Tinubu has ensured that issues affecting the larger and vulnerable segment of the population – women and children – are given prime attention. As my sister from my dear Delta State, I am immensely proud of her and the positive impact she has made in governance.”
