The Edo state governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Senator Monday Okpebholo has cast his vote in the ongoing gubernatorial election of the state.

Okpebholo cast his ballot at PU003, Uwessan 1, Esan Central Local Government Area (LGA) in Edo State.

Addressing the press, Okpebholo who is one of the leading governorship candidates declared that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) would not get a single vote at his polling unit because his people love him.

He said: “What I am seeing here is testimony that INEC is getting it right.

“PDP or whatever will not get one vote here because this is my home and my people love me. I have nothing to fear.

“What they are saying about security is hyping. No knockout or a stick of matches. It is just to scare people away from voting.

“You know Obaseki… I don’t know… his wisdom I don’t know. He wanted to cause a fire in Edo state, but by the grace of God, everything is moving perfectly.”

The New Diplomat reports that Okpebholo is battling with Dr Asue Ighodalo of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), and Olumide Akpata of the Labour Party (LP), among other candidates for the governorship seat of Edo State.
