Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State has disclosed the reasons behind his passion for dancing.

Adeleke, popularly called the “Dancing Governor” said dancing brings him immense joy.

Adeleke made this known on Wednesday while replying to a tweet on X, the platform formerly known as Twitter.

An X user: @Iwogoke, had lauded the governor’s dedication to fulfilling his electoral promises, contrasting it with critics who focus only on his penchant for dancing. @Iwogoke tweeted: “I’m not flattering you, Your Excellency; your opponents think you can only dance, but while they are busy shouting and calling you ‘Dancing Governor’, you are busy fulfilling your electoral promises to the people.”

In response, Adeleke explained via his verified X account that dancing brings him immense joy.

However, he emphasized that delivering the dividends of democracy to the people of Osun gives him even greater satisfaction.

He highlighted his administration’s ongoing efforts to improve the state’s infrastructure, including the rehabilitation of primary health centres in 200 out of the 332 wards in Osun and road construction in every local government area.

Adeleke wrote: “Dancing gives me joy, but delivering on my electoral promises and providing the dividends of democracy to the good people of Osun gives me even greater joy. Rehabilitation of primary health centres is ongoing in at least 200 out of 332 wards, and road construction is progressing in every Local Government!”

It would be recalled that Adeleke’s administration has been under the spotlight, with opponents frequently downplaying his achievements by focusing on his love for dancing.

However, his supporters argue that the governor’s accomplishments in governance speak volumes, highlighting his commitment to fulfilling campaign promises.
