NNPCL Officially Lifts Petrol From Dangote Refinery

The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) has officially begun loading Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), also known as petrol, from the Dangote refinery owned by Nigerian billionaire business mogul and Africa’s richest man, Alhaji Aliko Dangote.

Hundreds of trucks owned by the NNPCL were sighted at the Dangote Refinery located at Ibeju Lekki Axis of Lagos State.

The NNPCL, in a statement issued on Sunday, explained that the Dangote refinery is equipped with 86 gantries, making it possible to load 86 trucks simultaneously.

The New Diplomat reports that the Dangote refinery officially began petrol production on September 3.

Following this development, the federal government announced that the supply of petrol from the country’s indigenous refinery would commence on September 15, after it reached an agreement on operational pricing and supply terms.

Also, the Vice President of Dangote Industries Limited, Devakumar V. G. Edwin, had revealed that the refinery could discharge 54 million litres of petrol per day.
