Minister of Justice and Attorney General of the Federation, Lateef Fagbemi, SAN, a former Minister of Justice and Attorney General of the federation, Kanu Agabi, SAN, State Attorneys-General and Commissioners for Justice from Nigeria’s 36 states , ICPC chairman, Musa Adamu Aliyu, SAN, amongst others are billed to gather in Abuja on Monday, September 9, 2024, for a crucial roundtable aimed at tackling corruption in the country. This one-day summit, titled “Building a Unified Front Against Corruption in Nigeria,” is being organized by the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) with support from the MacArthur Foundation.
ICPC Chairman, Dr. Musa Adamu Aliyu SAN, who confirmed the Summit said the programmer is a strategic effort to bolster anti-corruption initiatives at all levels of government. According to him, the event is expected to enhance collaboration between the ICPC and State Attorneys-General as well as reinforce the National Anti-Corruption Strategy (NACS).
The Honourable Attorney-General of the Federation, Lateef Fagbemi SAN, is scheduled to serve as the special guest of honour, while a keynote address will be delivered by a former Attorney-General of the Federation, Kanu Agabi, SAN.
According to the programme, a panel discussion will be led by former Lagos State Attorney-General, Moyosore Onigbanjo SAN, with contributions from other experts including Ekpo Nta, former ICPC Chairman; Prof. Mohammed Tabiu SAN, of Bayero University, Kano; Prof. Abdulkarim Kana SAN (Designate), of Nasarawa State University, Keffi; and Borno State Attorney-General, Hauwa Abubakar.
