President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is set to jet out of Abuja for Beijing, China, on Thursday, August 29, on an official visit.

This was disclosed in a statement issued by the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale.

Ngelale, in the statement, also revealed that Tinubu will have a brief layover in the United Arab Emirates.

According to the statement, Tinubu is expected to have a bilateral meeting with his Chinese counterpart, President Xi Jinping. Also, the President is scheduled to hold meetings with Chinese business leaders on the sidelines of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation.

The New Diplomat reports that this is coming amid a flurry of seizures of Nigerian assets by a Chinese firm, Zhongshan Fucheng Industrial Investment Co. Limited.

It would be recalled that a French court had recently ruled in favour of the firm and granted the seizure of presidential jets belonging to the Nigerian government over a business dispute with Ogun State, a subnational within the Nigerian federation.
