One of the founding members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and a former National Auditor of the party, Dr George Moghalu, has formally announced his decision to resign his membership of the ruling party.

Moghalu made this known in a letter dated August 26 and addressed to the APC chairman in his ward in Nnewi, Anambra state.

Moghalu, a former managing director of the National Inland Waterways Authority (NIWA), stated that his decision to dump the party was personal.

The former APC auditor said he hopes to continue to have a cordial relationship with members of the party.

The statement reads in part: “I bring you good wishes of my dear family and to formally notify you of my decision to resign my membership of the APC with effect from today, August 26, 2024,” he said.

“Please, kindly accept this as my personal decision.

“It is my utmost desire and expectation that all of us will continue to maintain the cordial relationship that we have built together over the years.

“I wish you and all the members of the party the very best. Please, accept as always the assurance of my best regards.”
