President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is set to visit China to hold bilateral talks with Chinese President Xi Jinping.

The two presidents are expected to hold diplomatic talks at the Forum on China–Africa Cooperation Summit between September 4 and 6, 2024.

Tinubu, according to the presidency, is expected to visit China to represent the West African bloc ECOWAS at the Summit.

It would be recalled that Tinubu is the chairman of the Authority of Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) Heads of State and Government.

This development was made known in a statement issued by the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale, who confirmed the scheduled trip.

Ngelale, in the statement, explained that the trip aims to yield significant economic benefits for Nigeria.

This is also coming amidst a business dispute between Ogun State and a Chinese company, Zhongshan Fucheng Industrial Investment Co. Ltd.

The planned meeting will take place amid a flurry of seizures of Nigerian assets by the Chinese firm.
