* To Swear in New CJN, Kekere-Ekun

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has landed in Abuja, Nigeria after a brief “work visit”to France.

It was gathered that the president arrived at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja in the early hours of Friday.

It would be recalled that Tinubu had departed for France from the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport on Monday in a new presidential jet, an Airbus A330. According to statement by Mr Ajuri Ngelale, Presidential spokesman, maintained that the President was traveling to France on a “work visit” and would return after his work stay.

The New Diplomat reports that Tinubu’s arrival comes in time for a scheduled swearing-in ceremony of Nigeria’s new Chief Justice (CJN), Justice Kudirat Kekere-Ekun.

He is expected to preside over the inauguration of Justice Kudirat Kekere-Ekun as the new CJN at the State House, according to a statement issued on Thursday night by Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to the President, Ajuri Ngelale.

Kekere-Ekun is scheduled to succeed Justice Olukayode Ariwoola who retired on Thursday, August 22, 2024.
