  • Tinubu Brought Aregbesola But Today, They Are Not Together…

By Abiola Olawale

The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory(FCT) and a two-term governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike has stated that he is not worried about the ongoing dispute between him and his successor, Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers State.

The Minister, who referenced the situation between President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and former Governor of Osun State, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, said that disputes are bound to happen in politics.

According to him, the dispute is not a new thing in politics, emphasizing that he has learnt a lot from his relationship with Fubara.

He also declared that there is no going back on his decision and that he won’t support Fubara again.

He said: “Aregbesola was brought by Tinubu but today, he is not with him again. He has left despite all that the President did for him. So, why do you worry yourself about all those things? In all honesty, I can tell you that there is no going back on my decision. The support I gave him (Fubara) I have not come out of it. Some people don’t play politics of integrity but I play politics of integrity”.

It would also be recalled that Rivers State has been in the news for the past year over the cold war between Governor Siminalayi Fubara and his predecessor, Wike.

While the reasons for the acrimony between the duo remain top secret, some insider sources maintain that Wike and Fubara had been purportedly battling for control of the oil-rich state’s resources and the political machinery of the state.
