The Nigerian Police Force (NPF) has announced the deployment of CP Nemi Edwin-Iwo as the new Commissioner of Police of Edo State.

This was announced in a statement issued by the Edo state command’s spokesman, SP Moses Joel Yamu.

Yamu, in the statement, revealed that Edwin-Iwo assumed duty at the Command’s headquarters in Benin on Tuesday as the 47th Commissioner of Police in Edo State.

The New Diplomat reports that Edwin-Iwo was enlisted into the Nigeria Police Force in the year 1992 as a Cadet Assistant Superintendent of Police and rose through the ranks.

He previously served at Lagos, Oyo, Bayelsa, and Bauchi police commands and the Force Headquarters in Abuja.

Over the last three decades in the Force, CP Nemi Edwin-Iwo has attended several Tactical and Leadership Courses both within and outside the country.

Until his present posting, he was the Commissioner of Police in charge of Intelligence at the Force Intelligence Department, Force Headquarters, Abuja.
