A Chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Garba Adamu, has accused Ukraine and the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) of allegedly sponsoring people to fly Russian flags in Nigeria.

Adamu, a former presidential aspirant under APC said Ukraine and CIA allegedly took advantage of the #EndBadGovernance protest to export their war with Russia to African soil.

Posting on X, he wrote: “The Russian flags were most likely spread by Ukraine and the CIA with their internal political collaborators to sabotage the government.

“They have been unmasked and have failed woefully. Ukraine is doing everything possible to export its failed war on Russia to Africa. See what they did in Mali recently.

“They collaborated with terrorists against the government in Mali.

“Nigeria should be watchful and careful of the politics of the Sahel because we are not altogether disconnected from it. We must, however, use it to our advantage, strategically.”

The New Diplomat reports there have been concerns regarding the display of foreign flags in certain States in the the northern part of the country by certain EndBadGovernance protesters.

Video footage captured the protesters waving the Russian flag while echoing calls for military rule in Nigeria.

Operatives of the Nigeria Police Force, NPF, the Department of State Services, DSS, and other security agencies have affected several arrests of individuals allegedly involved in the illegal and inappropriate act.
