Isaac Fayose, the younger brother of former Ekiti State Governor Ayodele Fayose, has alleged that there is a sudden surge in the number of prominent Nigerian politicians travelling abroad.
Fayose, in a widely circulated video, claimed that numerous airports in the country are experiencing congestion due to the recent travels of several governors, senators, and other politicians abroad.
He also hinged the sudden surge on the impending nationwide demonstrations scheduled to begin on August 1, 2024.
According to him, the politicians are leaving the country in case the protests escalate into violence.
“House of Representatives members, senators, governors, and ministers are all travelling abroad suddenly because of the protest,” Fayose stated in the video.
It would be recalled that a nationwide protest has been gaining traction as some individuals are planning to storm the streets to express their dissatisfaction with the current state of governance in Nigeria.
However, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has consistently appealed to the organizers to shelve their planned protest, saying his administration is working to address their grievances.
