Sophia Momodu, Davido’s baby mama, has alleged that the singer, David Adeleke, neglected their daughter because she allegedly refused sexual advances from him.

She made these allegations in a counter-affidavit to a suit previously filed by Davido who was seeking custody of the child.

At the Lagos State High Court sitting in Sabo, Yaba, Sophia claimed that Davido had been an absentee father and only showed interest in their daughter whenever he is interested in sexual relationships.

“He always used the condition of my making myself available for his sexual pleasures as a pre-condition to visit our daughter or show some fatherly love to her.

“The applicant, apart from his cravings for sex, only comes around to spend time with our daughter when he wants to use her for media stunts or promotions. He has been known to stop communicating and stop making payments for our daughter’s school fees and maintenance whenever I refused his sexual advances,” she said.

She also claimed that the singer only visited the girl at nights when the minor had already gone to bed.

She added: “When I noticed that his intention for coming late at night was not to visit our daughter but to seek sexual favors, I told him to desist from such visits. Our daughter, who needed to be in school in the morning, would have already been asleep. When I refused him entry at ungodly hours, he stopped visiting or calling our daughter, a pattern throughout his relationship with her.”

She further alleged that Davido refused to pick up their daughter’s school fees among other things.

Sophia further revealed that the child’s tuition debts, which had accumulated over three years from 2021 to 2023, were eventually settled by Adedeji Adeleke, Davido’s father.
