The presidential campaign of former President of the United States, Donald Trump, has confirmed that it raised nearly $52.8 million in online small-dollar donations on Friday, May 31.

The whopping donations came 24 hours after a Manhattan jury found the former president guilty in his hush money trial.

The campaign said it received a staggering total that represents more than half of what it raised in the entire month of April 2024.

Senior campaign aides, Chris LaCivita, and Susie Wiles said in a statement the record haul was equivalent to more than $2 million raised per hour.

The campaign noted that more than one-third of donors were new Trump donors.

The New Diplomat reports that the former president was convicted on 34 felony counts of falsifying business records related to payments to his then-lawyer and “fixer,” Michael Cohen, for “legal services” that jurors determined were going to keep porn star, Stormy Daniels, from speaking out about an alleged sexual encounter with Trump in 2006.

Trump is scheduled to be sentenced on July 11, one week before he is scheduled to accept the Republican nomination for president in the November 5, 2024, General Election.

However, Trump has rejected the verdict, describing it as a scam. He also vowed to appeal the judgment.
