Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, past Senate Deputy President of the 9th Senate, has expressed deep shock and sadness over the sudden passing of Olorogun (Hon.) Eme Mukoro, a former member of the Delta State House of Assembly, who represented Ughelli South constituency.
In a statement on Wednesday, May 29, Omo-Agege described Mukoro as “his dear brother, good friend” and lamented the painful loss.
“This is one solemn moment when words are just not enough to express the true feeling of a loss so terribly painful,” he said.
Omo-Agege, the Obarisi of Urhoboland, paid tribute to Mukoro as “a wonderful political and business leader, who has done a lot of good for our people” and “a major pillar of progressive politics in Ughelli South Local Government Area and beyond.”
The Urhobo leader called on the people to pray for God’s comfort and strength for Mukoro’s wife, children, and entire family during this difficult time.
“As we mourn this huge loss to the Urhobo Nation and Delta State as a whole, Senator Omo-Agege enjoins our people to pray for God, through His Holy Spirit, to comfort and strengthen the wife, children and entire family of Olorogun Eme Mukoro,” the statement read.
Mukoro, prior to his untimely death, was a prominent figure in the APC and a key ally of Omo-Agege in Delta politics.
The late politician’s role and impact on the Urhobo nation and Delta State was widely felt, making his passing a major loss, according to Omo-Agege’s statement.
Late Mukoro was a former senior legislative aide to Omo-Agege during his tenure as the Senate Deputy President of the 9th Senate.
