Former President of the United States of America (USA), Donald Trump might have playfully hinted at the idea of someone being President for three terms.

Although the US Constitution does not allow any individual to be elected as President for three terms, Trump, while speaking with the National Rifle Association, asked his supporters if they would consider a third term.

He said: “You know, FDR 16 years – almost 16 years – he was four terms. I don’t know, are we going to be considered three-term? Or two-term?” The ex-president said to the organization’s annual convention in Dallas, prompting some in the crowd to yell “Three!”

It would be recalled Trump had floated a third term in past comments, even mentioning a prolonged presidency while campaigning in 2020. He had also distanced himself from this idea. Trump while speaking with the press in April had said: “I wouldn’t be in favour of it at all. I intend to serve four years and do a great job.”

Speaking further during the convention, Trump also vowed to reverse gun safety measures green-lighted during the Joe Biden administration.

The former president said he heard that gun owners “don’t vote,” pushed NRA members to hit the polls in November: “Let’s be rebellious and vote this time, OK?”

“If the Biden regime gets four more years, they are coming for your guns,” Trump railed.
