There was massive chaos at the new Banex Plaza located in the Wuse 2 district of Abuja as about three soldiers and some traders had a go at each other.

The clash was said to have reportedly occurred between the soldiers and the traders over a phone sale dispute.

The FCT Police Command on Saturday confirmed it deployed intelligence officers to the Banex area of Wuse, Abuja where electronics and communications/phone gadgets are sold, as a result of an altercation that ensued between some soldiers and traders.

Sources said the conflict was reportedly sparked off when the soldiers returned a phone bought earlier over some technical fault and demanded a refund of the money paid for the phone resulting in arguments and fracas

The argument was said to have escalated after the trader reportedly refused to refund the money

Following the apprehension caused by the confrontation, the Spokesman of the FCT Police Command Josephine Adeh confirmed that police operatives have been deployed to the market to return normalcy to the place.

Adeh said: “The Commissioner of Police, CP Beneth Igweh has deployed officers of the FCT Intelligence Response Team to the scene of the incident”.
