Just when movie enthusiasts were still reeling from the double tragedy of Junior Pope and Zulu Adigwe’s tragic passing, reports about the passage of a veteran Yoruba actor, Ganiyu Oyeyemi, popularly known as Ogunjimi, broke into the media space on Friday.

Ogunjimi’s death was announced by a Yoruba actor, Kunle Afod, in a post on his Instagram page.

While Mourning the actor, Afod wrote: “We tried our best but God loves you more. May his soul rest in peace. Baba Ogunjinmi, RIP, Sun re oooo.”

However, the cause of Ogunjimi’s death has not yet been determined or disclosed as of the time of writing this report,

The deceased was famous for his fierce role, especially as a warlord in the Yoruba movies. He is popular for his roles as a wizard when the movie involves the act of witchcraft.

Ogunjimi was classed into the categories of Abija, Lalude, Fadeye, and Dagunro, known for their roles as traditional herbalists in movies.

The New Diplomat reports that recent weeks have been marked by a series of tragic events in the Nigerian movie industry.

This somber development comes two days after a popular Nollywood star Pa Zulu Adigwe, passed away.

Amaechi Muonago, John Okafor, John Paul Odonwodo, and Tolani Quadri are on the long list of actors who have passed away this year.
