The opposition party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has announced the appointment of caretaker committees in some states, Local Government Areas and wards.

The National Working Committee in a press statement issued by the National Publicity Secretary, Hon. Debo Ologunagba said the executives whose tenures have expired should now serve as caretaker committees for three months pending further notice from the leadership of the party.

In the statement, the NWC said the development is in line with the provisions of Section 29 (2) (b) of the Constitution of PDP. The NWC also stated that in situations where vacancies occurred in the respective Excos due to death, defection, and/or resignation, no replacement should be effected for such vacancies in the Caretakers Committees.

The NWC further charged all leaders, critical stakeholders, and members of the party to continue to work together to ensure the stability, growth, and success of the party in their respective States, Local Government Areas, and Wards.
