The Defence Headquarters has declared eight persons wanted over their alleged roles in the gruesome killing of 17 military personnel in the Okuama community of Ughelli South Local Government Area of Delta State.

The Director of Defence Media Operations, Major General Edward Buba made this known during a press briefing on Thursday. He said Akevwru Daniel Omotego popularly known as Amagben has been declared wanted over his alleged link with the murder of the 17 military personnel.

Other declared wanted are Prof. Ekpekpo Arthur, Andaowei Dennis Bakriri, Akata Malawa David, Sinclear Oliki, Clement Ikolo Oghenerukeywe, Reuben Baru, and Igoli Ebi.

Buba also called on Nigerians especially residents of Delta and adjoining states to assist the military with credible information that would lead to the arrest of eight persons allegedly responsible for the killing of seventeen soldiers in Okuama community in Delta State.

The New Diplomat reports that this latest development comes a few hours after the slain 17 military personnel were committed to Mother Earth on Wednesday, amidst tears and grief. President Bola Ahmed Tinubu also conferred national honors on the fallen soldiers and declared housing facilities, scholarship programs, and other entitlements would be paid to the families of the deceased.
