The remains of the late former Group Chief Executive Officer (GCEO) of Access Holdings Plc, Dr Herbert Wigwe, as well as those of his wife and son, have arrived in Nigeria.

The New Diplomat gathered that the body of the Wigwes arrived at the Port Harcourt International Airport from the United States, US, around 2 pm on Friday.

The remains of the Wigwes arrived just hours before the trio would be laid to rest at Isiokpo, his hometown, in Ikwerre LGA of Rivers State. The combined funeral service is scheduled for tomorrow, Saturday, March 9, 2024, and will hold at the RCCG, Lion of Judah Parish, Isiokpo.

The New Diplomat reports that Wigwe, alongside his wife, son, and Abimbola Ogunbanjo, the former group chairman of Nigerian Exchange Group Plc (NGX Group), died in a helicopter crash at the border of Nevada and California in the US last month.

Since their death, tributes have continued to pour in for Wigwe as sympathizers recalled his deeds while alive.
