The All Progressives Congress (APC) has removed the Governor of Imo state, Senator Hope Uzodinma from office as the chairman Edo state Governorship Primary election committee.

In a list released by the APC’s National Organising Secretary, H.E. Sulaiman Muhammad Argungu, Gov Uzodinma has been replaced by the Governor of Cross Rivers State, Bassey Otu.

This latest development follows the controversial Edo Primary election held on Saturday which saw three candidates announced as winners in the contest.

Governor Uzodinma had declared a Candidate of the Primary election, Mr. Dennis Idahosa, winner of the primaries, contrary to due process.

The APC has since fixed February 22, 2024, to complete the primary elections

As a result, the party has updated the committee list for the seven-man election primary committee. H.E. Senator Otu Bassey will chair the team, while Alh. Rabiu Suleiman will serve as Secretary.

In the Amended list, the APC also names Barr. C. C. Udenwa as the Chairman of the
Appeal Committee
