President Bola Tinubu is currently presiding over an emergency meeting with Governors of the Federation, at the Council Chambers of the State House, Abuja.

The New Diplomat also gathered that Vice President Kashim Shettima; the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FTC) Chief Nyesom Wike; and Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun are also at the meeting.

The meeting commenced around 11:30am, on Thursday. Though the agenda of the day remains sketchy as of press time, it is believed that Tinubu summoned the meeting in a bid to find remedies to rising cost of food items, insecurity and other economic issues.

The New Diplomat had reported that Nigerians have been bemoaning the continuous hike in prices of food items and other commodities in the country. Also, some citizens have taken to the streets to protest against the hyper-inflation, calling on the government to find lasting solutions.
