Confederation of African Football (CAF) President Patrice Motsepe says President Bola Tinubu will touch down in Abidjan on Sunday, to give moral support to Super Eagles as they vie for continental glory against Ivory Coast in the AFCON 2023 finals.

Patrice Motsepe promised Tinubu’s impending arrival while touting Nigeria’s prospects of hosting another FIFA World Cup.

“The Nigerian president is coming to watch the final on Sunday,” Motsepe confirmed. “I will have a conversation with him about it.”

Motsepe’s optimism comes after Vice President Kashim Shettima witnessed the Eagles’ dramatic shootout triumph over South Africa in the semi finals

His proposed presence further adds to swelling excitement that Sunday could bring Nigeria’s fourth African title and first since 2013.
