The Asagba of Asaba , His Royal Majesty, Obi (Prof.) Joseph Chike Edozien, has reportedly joined his ancestors.

Edozien, who was the traditional ruler of Asaba, the Delta State capital, was said to have passed on yesterday.

The monarch only recently commenced activities marking his 100th birthday anniversary.

The news of the monarch demise filtered into the streets of Asaba on Wednesday with residents of the state capital describing his death as a great loss to Asaba people.

Although the palace has not officially announced the passage of the respected monarch, multiple sources confirmed the sad news to this medium

However, efforts to get an official response from the Palace Secretary, Chief Patrick Ndili, at the time of filing this report were unsuccessful.

Edozien was the 13th Asagba of Asaba.
