Nigeria’s former vice president and 2023 presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar has condemned the brutal murder of Nabeeha Al-Kadriyar, a 400-level student of biological science, Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria who was killed by kidnappers on Friday.

Atiku in a tweet on X platform, formerly known as Twitter, said he is deeply saddened by reports of the murder of Nabeeha, who had been held hostage in a kidnapper’s den for almost two weeks.

According to him, “this is yet another reminder that kidnappers and bandits are operating unhindered in our country.

“The security architecture needs to be rejigged to the extent that it stems the free rein of criminal elements and guarantees the safety of lives and property. The security agencies should step up action to rescue the rest who are still in the custody of the kidnappers.

“I pray Allah to grant the deceased eternal rest and comfort the family.”

In the same vein, a former Senator who represented Kaduna Central in the Nigerian Parliament, Senator Shehu Sani on Sunday, maintained that the gruesome murder of Nabeeeha Al-kadriyar is a condemnable act of evil.

According to him, her death was an avoidable tragedy.

He said: “The perpetrators must be brought to justice. The deterioration of security within the federal capital should be a matter of urgent concern to our security services.May her soul rest in peace.Amin.”

It would be recalled that Nabeeeh, her five sisters and their father were abducted by kidnappers from their residence in the Bwari Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) on January 2, 2024.
