Following the accusations regarding alleged financial misconduct of over N585 million in the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, the Minister of Interior, Bunmi Tunji-Ojo, has been summoned by the Presidency.

Reports indicate that the Minister – Tunji-Ojo is scheduled to have a meeting with President Bola Tinubu later today.

There have been allegations connecting the Minister to certain financial dealings involving the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, supposedly through a company in which he has a vested interest.

The company is said to have secured a contract worth over N400 million from the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation.

It would be recalled that President Tinubu suspended Betta Edu, the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, on Monday due to allegations of financial irregularities and mismanagement of public funds.

Edu was suspended on Monday, January 8, by President Bola Tinubu, following allegations that she transferred the sum of N585 million into a personal account belonging to a project consultant.

The matter is currently being investigated by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
