By Agency Report

Eight people have reportedly been abducted by gunmen at Gidna which is a border community between Kagarko Local Government Area of Kaduna State and Bwari Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory.

The incident which occurred in the early hours of Friday is coming less than a week after several persons were killed and nine others abducted in Pashini community.

Mibagyemiwye Peter is a woman whose relatives have fallen victims of banditry and abduction, with most of them still in captivity. The elderly woman is just one of many whose family members have been abducted by gunmen in Kagarko Local Government Area of Kaduna state, North-West Nigeria.

Such communities as Idah, Pashini, Gidan Dogo and Gidna have constantly been attacked by gunmen who have either killed or taken the people into captivity with the people now being forced to abandon their ancestral homes.

These youths and women in their numbers therefore took to the major highway in the area to register their displeasure and alert the government of the need for urgent solutions.

Carrying placards with different inscriptions the protesters held travellers to hours of standstill to convey their message to government which they say has abandoned them.
