Mr. Dike Lemoha, the Chairman of Umuegbe Progressive Union (UPU) Lagos Chapter, has emphasized the importance of compassion and upholding the fundamental values that unite Nigerians in the process of nation building.

During the Annual General Meeting and end-of-year celebrations, held on recently at the Rollers Event Center in Ago Palace Way, Okota Lagos, Lemoha emphasized the importance of Nigerians maintaining love and respect for each other.

He urged everyone to consistently strive to do what is morally correct and participate in endeavors that foster unity among citizens, regardless of their tribe, religion, or beliefs.

Lemoha further emphasized that the association stands out from others due to its unwavering integrity and love. Every member of the association possesses the courage to assert their rights and rectify any wrongdoing that may occur.

Also, addressing the gathering was Dr. Orlando Ugwoegbulem, a Medical Doctor who currently serves as the Patron of the association. Dr. Ugwoegbulem, who previously held the position of Chief Medical Director at the National Orthopaedic Hospital Igbobi Lagos, emphasized the purpose of the Annual General Meeting (AGM).

He highlighted two key objectives of the event. Firstly, it serves as an opportunity for members and their families to come together, fostering camaraderie and providing a platform for interaction and support. Secondly, the AGM serves as a platform to assess the association’s accomplishments and strategize on how to further propel its progress.

Also, in attendance at the event is Mr. Christain Odunna, the President General of Umuegbe Progressive Union, accompanied by his delightful spouse, who added elegance to the occasion. Mr. Odunna emphasized the importance of generosity among members and urged them to actively contribute to the association’s initiatives consistently.

Similarly, Amb. Augustine Uwandu, the former Chairman of the association, warmly greeted all the UPU members who were present at the event, while speaking from Canada.

He expressed his delight in seeing familiar faces and reconnecting with family members.

He emphasized that AGMs provide an opportunity to reflect on our accomplishments, celebrate them, and reignite the sense of unity that characterizes our association.

His words, “Reflecting during my time as Chairman of the family, I am reminded of the incredible journey we undertook together and serving this esteemed association and it is a rare privilege that I will forever cherish and thanking the members for the support accorded me during my tenure. I want to encourage all of you to extend same hand of followership to my brother and Chairman Mr. Dike Lemoha’’

Another member from the family, as well as a previous Chairman, Mr. George Mbata, addressed the gathering and urged members to persistently back the administration. In instances where conflicts arise, he emphasized the importance of actively seeking solutions to resolve them promptly.

Mrs Josphine Orlando, the beloved wife of the Patron, was the center of attention during the event as she was officially appointed as the Patroness of the women’s wing of UPU Lagos Chapter.
