Idris Malagi, the Minister of Information and National Orientation, has said that there is no substantiated proof indicating that the federal government is orchestrating the current political turmoil in Rivers State.

Malagi said this in an interview on Channels Television on Thursday.

The presence of certain actors from the crisis within President Bola Tinubu’s cabinet does not imply that the All Progressives Congress (APC) government orchestrated the situation in the state, as stated by him.

According to the Minister, “The fact that it is happening in Rivers does not mean that it is the federal government that is orchestrating the political crisis.

“I’ve not found evidence to say that it is the federal government that is engineering the crisis in Rivers State,” the minister stated, adding that “it is easy to speculate because some of the actors are people who associate with the government at the centre.”

Malagi mentioned that there have been political circumstances in other states such as Ondo, and the President had taken steps to address the conflict, even within the same party members.
