President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has felicitated the Muslim Ummah on this year’s Eid-el-Maulud celebration, which marks the commemoration of the birth of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him).

“I congratulate Muslims in Nigeria, and beyond on this year’s Eid-el-Maulud, marking the birth of Prophet Muhammad PBUH SAW.”

Tinubu in a congratulatory message on X platform, formerly known as Twitter, Wednesday, said that Prophet Muhammad’s teachings and life are of great lessons of devotion, perseverance, tolerance, humility and selflessness that we can all learn from.

According to the President, “I therefore urge all Muslims celebrating the Maulud festival to extend their hand of fellowship to the needy and vulnerable in the spirit of the season while praying for the country and her leaders at all levels.”

In the same vein, the 2023 presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, while celebrating with the muslim Faithfuls said, “to celebrate the noble Prophet Muhammad S.A.W every 12th of Rabi’ul Awwal of the Islamic calendar is to acknowledge the positive impact that his teachings brought to us as Muslim faithful and also sign on to the commitment of following his footsteps.

“Therefore, as we celebrate this year’s Maulud Nabiyy today, it is an opportunity to re-dedicate ourselves to the ideals of peaceful co-existence and absolute submission to the will of the Almighty Allah.

“I therefore congratulate the Muslim faithful in Nigeria and across the globe on the celebration of this year’s Maulud, praying that Allah may grant His peace upon every family and humanity at large.”

Former Anambra State Governor and presidential candidate of Labour party, Peter Obi, on X platform said, “I heartily rejoice with all the Muslim Faithful in Nigeria as they celebrate the Eid-El Maulud to honour the birth of the Holy Prophet Muhammad.

His words: “It is an opportunity for sober reflections and deep intercessions for divine intervention in the many challenges facing our nation on all fronts.

“Nigeria has continued to contend with many challenges, some of which are obvious: disunity among the people, extreme poverty, high rate of unemployment and high level of insecurity.

“Let us today, pray for lasting peace in our nation, and in keeping with the Holy Prophet’s teachings, continually extend brotherly love to our countrymen, especially the poor, irrespective of tribe or religious beliefs.

“I wish all the Muslim Faithful a Happy Eid el Maulud celebration.”
