The minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesome Wike, on Monday assumed office in Abuja with a promise to raze down illegal structures.
Mr. Wike who was accompanied by the Minister of State, Mariya Mahmud arrived his new office at about 1:20 pm shortly after the swearing-in ceremony at the presidential villa to hold their first press conference.
The two ministers arrival was witnessed by a mammoth crowd which followed them into the office area at the FCTA.
Speaking with reporters, Mr Wike who pledged to restore the city’s master plan said land allottees who have been given Certificates of Occupancy but failed to develop their property would lose their lands to those ready to build.
“If you know you have built where you are not supposed to build, it will go down”, he said.
