The Nigeria Police Force has condemned the attack on the motorcade of Abia State Commissioner for Trade and Investment Dr. Chimezie Isaac Ukaegbu which led to the death of two officers on Tuesday, at Old Express Road near Samek Junction in Aba, by unknown gunmen as cowardly.

A statement issued on Wednesday by the command’s Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, ASP Maureen Chioma, which regretted the death of the officers said the police “remains steadfast in the resolve to bring the perpetrators to justice.”

It further stated: “We urge the public to remain calm, vigilant, and cooperate fully with law enforcement agencies.

“Any information, regardless of how insignificant it may seem, could prove pivotal in identifying and apprehending the culprits responsible for this heinous act.

“In conclusion, we emphasize our unwavering commitment to pursuing justice and upholding the triumph of good over evil”.

According to eyewitnesses, the hoodlums ambushed the commissioner while he was returning from a meeting with the leaders of various markets in Aba.
