The Police in Delta State has disclosed that its command has recovered a GLB Sports Utility (SUV) Mercedes-Benz valued at N55 million in a bush along Oteri road by Doctors Quarters Ughelli North Local Council of the State.

The development comes days after a car dealer identified as Manga filed a complaint in Abuja, alleging that one Mr Henry, absconded with his Mercedes Benz GLB 250 during a test drive, after posing as a prospective buyer.

Delta State Commissioner of Police (CP), Wale Abbas, said this on Wednesday in Asaba while parading 11 suspects for various offences.

He said security operatives stormed Ughelli town to hunt for the suspect after recovering the vehicle.

In his words, “Sequel to a complaint received on 3/7/2023 at about 1700hours from a car dealer (name withheld) in Abuja whose vehicle was stolen from his car stand by the suspect who disguised as intending buyer and absconded with the said vehicle during a test drive on 30/6/2023 in Abuja.

“Armed with available intelligence, operatives of the CP-Decoy Squad stormed Ughelli town at about 0115hours of 3/7/2023 and recovered the said Mercedez Benz SUV abandoned in a bush along Oteri road by Doctors Quarters Ughelli North LGA. Serious manhunt for the suspect is ongoing.”

In the same vein, the Police Public Relations Officer, in Delta State, DSP Bright Edafe, on Thursday, shared the picture and name of the suspect involved on Twitter.

In his words, “This Benz stolen from a car stand at Abuja has been recovered in Delta. The suspect one Meshak Suinuohro is still at large. He specializes in stealing vehicles while pretending to be an intending buyer. Anyone with useful info as to his whereabout should pls contact the Police.”
