Media correspondents at the State House, Abuja were stunned to see chieftains of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, whose party and presidential candidate are in court challenging the result of the February 25th election that voted in Bola Tinubu as Nigeria’s President, meeting with the same man at his Aso villa office Friday evening.

Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State, former Governor James Ibori of Delta State, and the immediate past Governor of River State, Nyesom Wike, were at the State House, Abuja to meet with the President over undisclosed issues.

The trio are chieftains of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Ibori, was Governor between 1999 and 2007 same period that President Bola Tinubu was Lagos state governor; Wike was Rivers State Governor from 2015 to 2023 while Makinde is a sitting governor whose second term expires in 2027.

They arrived the seat of government at about 4.20pm about the time the Chief Executive Officer of Access Holding Plc, Mr Herbert Wigwe, who had been to the President’s office, was seen walking out .

The three men headed straight to the office of the President in the State House and at the time of filing this report details of the meeting remain remain shrouded in mystery.

Both Governor Makinde and former Governor Wike are considered to be allies of President Tinubu and are believed to have played supporting roles in his election during the February 2023 poll.

Our reporter gathered that the meeting which held in President Tinubu’s office was unscheduled and held behind closed doors.
