As part of attempts to make good it’s promise of tracking stolen funds stashed away by corrupt government officials, the operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) have arrested former Minister of Power, Mr Sale Mamman over alleged involvement in #22billion fraud.

The ex-Minister was reportedly arrested in early hours Wednesday, 10th May, 2023, was detained at the EFCC headquarters in Abuja.

Mr Mamman was alleged to have conspired with Staff in charge of Accounts of the Zungeru and Mambilla Hydro Electric Power Projects and diverted a whooping #22 billion, which they shared among themselves.

The arrest is said to be in connection with the Commission’s ongoing investigation into alleged corruption in the execution of some power projects.

The investigations have also uncovered properties in Nigeria and overseas linked to the suspects, while millions of naira and United States Dollars have been recovered.

Mr Mamman, who was appointed by the President Muhammadu Buhari in August 2019 was dismissed exactly two years in 2021.
