Less than 24 hours after two Catholic Priests were reported kidnapped at Agbarha-Otor in Ughelli North local government area in Delta State, renowned human rights activist and Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), Dr. Akpo Mudiaga-Odje has been released by his abductors.

Dr. Odje was reportedly kidnapped about 6.30pm last Sunday, 30th April, 2023 from Chambers, located near Warri main market by unknown gunmen.

According to the report, the gunmen invaded his chambers in military fashion, and whisked away the Senior Lawyer to an unknown destination.

But the legal practitioner was released by his abductors after an undisclosed amount of money was paid ransom to secure his release.

The Delta State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Bright Edafe who confirmed his release, said he could not say much as the Lawyer had not come to debrief the state police command.

Mr. Edafe however disclosed that the police is already on the trail of the kidnappers.
