There have been speculations surrounding the resignation of Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Chief Timipre Sylva, to pursue the realization of his governorship ambition come April 2023 in Bayelsa state.
Available reports on Thursday, hinted that the minister has submitted his resignation letter to President Muhammadu Buhari for approval, but there was no official press statement at the time of filling this report.
Sylva has signified his jntention to contest the governorship election in Bayelsa State, as an impeccable source hinted that he would participate in the forthcoming All Progressive Congress, APC’s primary election that is likely to hold anytime in April.
It would be recalled that Sylva had governed Bayelsa for one term and has constitutional rights to contest for another tenure.
Meanwhile, when contacted, the Minister’s Senior Adviser, Media and Communications, Horatius Egua said he could not deny or confirm the resignation because he had not seen the resignation letter or officially been informed of the resignation by the minister.
