…. Says Process To Reclaim Stolen Mandate has commenced

As avalanche of petitions flood the Independent National Electoral Commission, (INEC) over declaration of disputed election results, the
Labour Presidential Candidate, (LP) Mr. Peter Obi, has formally submitted a petition challenging the election process which declared the presidential candidate of the All Progressive Congress, (APC), Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, as President-elect from the February 25th, 2023 election.

The Chief Spokesman, Obi-Datti Presidential Campaign, Dr. Yunusa Tanko, on Twitter in the early hours of Tuesday, said “It is official the Labor Party Presidential candidate, Peter OBI has filed his petition to the presidential election tribunal in Abuja.

Dr. Tanko declared unequivocally that “the process of reclaiming the people’s mandate has started.”

It would be recalled that on March 2nd, Peter Obi rejected the presidential election outcome, and vowed to challenge the electoral process in a Court of competent jurisdiction.

The LP Presidential candidate has declared in different fora that his decision to challenge the election results was not predicated on hatred for the APC presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu or his party but was rather to contest the process that led to his declaration as President-elect.

According to the result declared by INEC, Peter Obi came third behind Tinubu and Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP).

Peter Obi while addressing a press conference said, “The election has been conducted and results announced as programmed. It is a clear deviation from the electoral rules and guidelines as we were promised and did not meet the minimum criteria of a free, transparent, credible and fair election devoid of voter intimidation and suppression, and late commencement of voting in some specific states.

“This will probably go down as one of the most controversial elections ever conducted in Nigeria. The good and hardworking people of Nigeria have again been robbed by the institutions and leaders whom we trusted”.
