The Nigeria military has arrested a Boko Haram Commander and rescued 178 persons kidnapped by the dreaded  Islamist sect in Bama, Borno State.

Nigerian troops  participating in Operation ”Lafiya Dole (Peace Is A Must)” which responsible for clearing the activities of Boko Haram terrorists in the northeast rescued another 178 people held captive by terrorists in 9 camps.

Col Tukur Gusau, a deputy director of the Nigerian Army public relations at the 7 Division confirmed to reporters that those rescued in the course of the operations, included 101 children, 67 women and 10 elderly men.

He added that one Boko Haram commander was also captured  while three Boko Haram flags were recovered.  Five motorcycles were burnt during the operation.

The gallant troops successfully cleared some terrorists’ camp in Shuwarin, Wulari, Dauye, Fadan, Jidori, Alikashiri, Ngoro, Kalzamari-Shuwa and Kalzamari-Kanuri respectively.
In their area of operation, the troops of 21 Brigade in conjunction with elements of 151 Task Force Battalion of the 7th Division, Nigerian Army have conducted offensive operations along Aulari in Bama axis.
