Few hours after directing members to suspend operations, the Borno chapter of the Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN) has walked back on its statement, reordering them to call off the notice of suspension of operations.

The union said the decision to suspend the strike comes after contentious were resolved.

IPMAN in statement on Tuesday, by the Borno state chairman, Mohammed Kuluwu, order marketers to suspend operations.

The union also directed its members to suspend the payment of ordering products from source until further notice.

The association said the decision followed, “the critical situation as it affect our sourcing and selling of product at lost (sic) and the action of the authority to impose the selling of product at a lost price (sic) on our side”.

“You are all hereby directed to suspend selling at all filling stations and also suspend payment of ordering products from source
until further notice,” the statement reads.

However, in the union’s latest statement, the strike has even called off.

The IPMAN stated that “Having meet with the authority, all filling station should open with immediate effect continue selling. While the association continue with further consultation and accordingly keep you inform.”
