The presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic party, PDP, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar has met United Kingdom government officials on his two days working visit on Tuesday.

An insider hinted that the PDP Presidential candidate was in that country to seek the Support of the UK government upon assumption of office as President.

Though, this is coming on the heels of earlier report that PDP presidential candidate travelled to the UK to seek medical help for his failing health. An impeccable source disclosed that the PDP Presidential candidate have been exhausted by the stress he suffered from his various campaigns.

But Atiku on his Facebook Handle said, ” I just concluded successful meetings with The Right Hon. Andrew Mitchell MP—Minister for Development and Africa in the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) among other key senior UK government officials.

“It was an auspicious occasion to share my vision for Nigeria, encapsulated in the Unity SEED with them. It is a vision United by Security, Economy, Education and Devolution (of Powers). I solicited their partnership and I am encouraged by the UK government’s strong interest in helping Nigeria RECOVER every facet of its life”. -AA

But a document sighted by The New Diplomat revealed the name, position and time of the UK government officials in the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) scheduled to meet Atiku on his two days working visit.

It would be recalled that Atiku’s health status had triggered controversies and concerns as reports emerged on Sunday suggesting he was receiving medical treatment in an undisclosed hospital in the United Kingdom (UK).
