  • Dismisses Obasanjo’s endorsement of Peter Obi

With less than forty five days to the general election, Senate Chief Whip and former governor of Abia state, Orji Uzor Kalu has declared that it’s only God’s Intervention that would prevent the All Progressive Congress, APC presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu from winning the election just as he berated former President Olusegun Obasanjo for endorsing the Labour Party, LP presidential candidate, Peter Obi to emerge as the first Nigerian citizen at the end of the poll.

The Senate Chief Whip who made the assertion at a Channels Television program to be aired earlier today, postulated that the presidential candidate is working round the clock to claim victory at the poll.

Orji Kalu posited that no party presidential candidate has toured the different states in Nigeria, soliciting for votes like the APC presidential candidate, adding that the man, Tinubu has worked so hard that only God’s Intervention would prevent him from getting the presidential ticket.

His words, “the man has been working endlessly to win the election. He had toured virtually all the states in Nigeria, campaigning for votes. He doesn’t not sleep until 3.00 am everyday. He works day and night. Yet, they would say, the man is not well, and too frail to rule Nigeria.”

The Senate Chief Whip who dismissed Obasanjo’s endorsement of the LP presidential candidate, Peter Obi as Nigeria’s next president as a mere political gimmick, said the former President was only being hypocritical by his actions.

He accused Obasanjo of truncating the Igbo’s quest for the presidency when he frustrated former Rivers state Governor, Peter Odili moves to occupy the exulted seat during his tenure as president.

Orji Kalu, however stated that he respects Elders but not the likes of the former President who,he accused of being deceitful.
